GE Aviation's first GEnx engine was delivered Wednesday, October 12th, 2011 on the new Boeing 747-8 freighter. A&P's braided reinforcements are used in the composite fan case, offering superior containment properties and substantial weight savings. Besides powering the four-engine 747-8, the GEnx engine is also the best-selling engine for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner.
