A&P's production braids are used in a variety of applications ranging from satellites to deepwater oil wells. For over 20 years, A&P has supported large volume programs such as: containment for GE aircraft engines (over 2,500 containment units produced with braid); braided composite propellers used on General Aviation and Commercial Aircraft (over 50,000 propellers produced with braid); and airbag material for BMW, Land Rover, Mini Cooper and Cadillac Escalade (over 48 million feet of braid produced). High volume programs include braided composite frames for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, composite fan cases for GEnx engines used on all Boeing 747-8 fleets and the 787 Dreamliner, and braided Airbeams for Rapid Deployment Structures used by the United States Army. Development and recent production programs include the manufacture of braided fabrics for radio dishes, aircraft brakes, and primary aerospace structures.
