A&P Technology is the exclusive manufacturer of Sharx™ brand braided reinforcement. Like the multiple layers of skin on a shark, A&P’s unique Sharx™ sleeving uses the power of braid to optimize an object’s shear strength.

When nested together, each braided layer distributes load evenly while all layers move seamlessly together, resulting in a tough and impact-resistant braided composite. And, because all layers move together, Sharx™ is extremely resistant to cracks between layers, reducing the possibility of delamination and increasing the strength of the product.

Sharx™ braid is also seamless, so it withstands internal pressure. When inflated, Sharx™ brand braided reinforcement works much like a shark’s body, orienting itself to the direction of force. This actually strengthens its outer skin, enabling it to withstand pressure and carry load, and to tolerate damage and fatigue. If a puncture does occur, Sharx™ provides a slow, controlled failure, rather than a more damaging and potentially dangerous blowup.

Sharx™ easily and repeatedly expands and has the flexibility to twist and turn, quickly and efficiently, without weakening its armor-like sheath. Sharx™ braided sleeving will also completely conform to the shape of products with changing geometries like prosthetics and hockey sticks, improving overall performance, minimizing weight, and maximizing strength.
